God's day. This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118: 24

Haven is a few weeks into the huge smile stage.  I love it – how you can even just look at her, or not look at her but just talk and her whole face lights up with joyful exuberance!  Today I got to spend a lot of the day with just Haven and it was such a treat to be able to really savour and soak up all her babyness with no interruptions.  We took a class together this morning with a friend and her baby – she napped some in the car seat and some in my arms and then we hung out all afternoon by ourselves at home – some outside in the gorgeous weather and some inside in a big comfy chair.  We nursed and napped and read and I GOT HER FIRST GIGGLE!!  It was short but I got it playing pat-a-cake.  To me a baby laughing is like the sound of angels – I cannot imagine anything better.  We should bottle it up and sell it for when people are down in the dumps. It had me thinking about wanting to smile like this more often, the smile of one who has no worries (or one who lets their worries rest on God).  And about not being so serious and instead truly experiencing the moments of sheer joy like my baby.
