God's day. This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118: 24

1000 Gifts – One of those weeks

This has been one of those weeks that felt like a month.  Yesterday I was putting away the laundry from our vacation on which we returned last Sunday (the day we had our twelve year wedding anniversary.)  Today I uploaded the pictures and found ones of us canning apricots and it just didn’t feel real that last Monday we were doing that and so much happened in-between.  There has been a lot of worry and upheaval this week and still – there is much to be thankful for – God’s grace everywhere as my friend Sherri-Dawn said this week.

117.  Family reunions – getting reconnected with far away loved ones and getting to know new family members

118.  Swimming

119.  Long drives during which to chat with my hubby

120.  More fruit and veggies put away for winter

121.  Nephews

122.  Vacation bible school

123.  Seeing friends and getting to worship with them three days in a row

124.  A husband being home, not away on business as previously planned

125.  X-rays – and the ability it gives the doctors to fix a break properly

126.  Having the ER nurse at the children’s hospital be the daughter to the seasons ticket holder next to my husbands work seasons tickets…we know her already and she has met Liam before

127.  Being able to stay overnight with your child at the hospital

128.  A brother and sister in law who live close enough to hospital so you can run back to sleep with your daughter for a few hours

129.  Pain medication

130.  A doctor who worked late on Friday night so your son didn’t have to wait another day for surgery

131.  Excellent medical staff who are extra good with children at the children’s hospital

132.  Prayers of family and friends

133.  A boy who doesn’t let all of this keep him down for long…

134.  Siblings who are so close they miss each other during the slightest absence

135.  A husband who was an anchor through all of this

136.  Twelve years of marriage

137.  Three treasures

138.  A seven week old (already! It’s going by too fast.)

139.  A ‘normal’ Monday – I hear the kids fighting as I type this

140.  A God who is always with me, through the good, the bad and the ugly.

When looking back to see what number I was on I realized it has been a long time since I have done a 1000 gifts post – God has been here with us all summer and I hope to catch up some of the blessings he has given us during July and August.  We have just been busy enjoying it as it happens.

holy experience
